HOW DOES IT WORK?
How can I buy directly from China without any hassle? I have never been overseas before and I don't speak a word of Chinese!

- Give you an all inclusive price, in £GBP for your chosen goods. This includes freight and charges delivered to a Felixstowe warehouse.

- Keep track of what you purchased, so that you can reorder without returning to China
Do I have to travel to umpteen different factories around China?
No - we enable you to travel to just one city in China, Yi Wu, where you can buy virtually every small commodity you can think of!Do I have to buy huge volumes of one item though?
Traditionally yes - with us, NO!If the item is in stock, the minimum order quantity (MOQ) can be as low as 1 carton.
If the item has to be ordered, the MOQ is higher - but this can be negotiated. Your translator will have experience of negotiating lower MOQs. Occasionally the shop will charge a slightly higher price in exchange for a lower MOQ.
It is worth noting that different shops often stock the same item - and different shops have different MOQs. With a little shopping around, you will be able to buy a smaller amount of goods.
If you wish to have your own logo on an item or change the packaging in any way, the MOQ will be increased significantly. The price will increase too as it is a special order.
Does this mean that I have to pay a lot more for my stock?
No - the shops / booths in Yi Wu's various markets sell products at just 3-5% above the manufacturers' cost price. However their minimum order quantity is often as low as 1 cardboard box. This means that, depending on the item chosen and whether it is currently in stock, you can purchase as few as 6 of one item!This means that your warehousing needs are greatly reduced and you can purchase a variety of goods - not just be stuck with a container load of one item.
How much will the trip cost?
The initial outlay for the trip is only £600. This covers the following:- Return transport from Shanghai to Yi Wu
- A dedicated, personal translator for the entire trip
- Hotel accommodation in Yi Wu for 6 days
- Your flight and visa. We prefer not to quote you a price for the flight as it is season dependant and we do not charge you any extra for it. (Flights vary in price from about £300 to £600.)
- Food
- Taxis in Yi Wu (A typical taxi fare from your hotel to the market area is about £1)
- General spending money, and of course the money to pay for the stock you purchase!
When do I have to pay for the trip?
Payment for the Chinese portion of trip must be made at the time of booking the trip with the sales representative in the UK, this can be done by credit or visa card (we do not charge a premium for using a credit card). We ask for at least 7 working days notice prior to travel so that we have some time to organize your personal arrangements - last minute trips are not always the best planned ones!How much do I have to spend on stock?
There is no minimum spend, we can consolidate orders or send part containers to the UK. Of course it is worthwhile spending £2000 or more so that the cost of your goods is kept down. It would be pointless in spending money in coming over to China and not purchasing anything at all!Are there any hidden charges?
No, we are upfront with our prices. There are no hidden charges and the price we quote you is the price you pay.Initially we will give you a rough price in GBP in the shop for each item you are interested in as it takes a long time to calculate an accurate figure for each item, and we want to maximize your shopping time.
We will prepare accurate prices for each item in the office. The price, product description, picture etc will be entered into a unique spreadsheet prepared for you. This spreadsheet will also allow you to order your goods on the last day of your trip and will accurately reflect the current exchange rates.
The price we give you on the spreadsheet will include:
- Domestic handling and charges in China
- International freight charges (some of which are fixed, others of which are variable)
- Domestic handling and charges in the UK to a Felixstowe warehouse
- Customs charges and duties
- International marine insurance
- Advice on Quarantine regulations
- Quality Control
Advantages of Using Our Company
- We are the only English ran international trade company in Yi Wu, with staff in both the UK and China and we have a lot of experience in buying directly with factories in China and from the shops and booths in the Yi Wu markets.
- By dealing with a UK company you have all the safe guards that you would if you were buying goods from your local supplier and having them delivered. Transactions are initiated through our UK company and we are governed by UK trade laws.
- Unlike other companies we do not charge you excessive amounts for your trip. The initial outlay for your trip is very low - just your flight plus $600 which covers your accommodation and transport in Yi Wu for the week. (Other companies charge £1600 just to take people to Yi Wu.)
- You can reorder by email when you need new supplies - we keep a record of what you purchased for future reference. We also supply a unique product number so there can be no confusion later on.
- If you see any items you like but don't want to purchase straight away - you can give the details to our staff and they can order it for you at a later date. This means if your cash flow is restricted when you come, you don't need to come back just to order more items.
- Quality Control is done by a reputable company - we ensure that what you pay for is what you get.
- Importing is a minefield - we make the process simple. We deal with ALL the paperwork including the bill of lading, export license, insurance, import taxes etc.
- The price you are quoted is the price you pay - there are no nasty hidden extras.
- Your goods will be delivered to a warehouse in Felixstowe - you can collect or have them delivered.
- We accept credit cards - so you can pay for your goods on credit if you prefer. We do not charge a premium for using a credit card. We are the ONLY company in Yi Wu that allows you to import goods and pay for them on plastic!!
