FAQs

What QC checks are done on my goods?

EVERY box will be opened to check that the contents are correct.
ALL boxes will be marked with the correct client number for easy identification in the warehouse in Felixstowe
If the items are fragile (like porcelain vases / porcelain dolls) then EVERY item will be checked to see if it is damaged.
All boxes that contain fragile goods will be marked with a red sticker with FRAGILE written on it.
Arrow stickers will be used on the boxes if they are to be packed upright.

How long will it take me to get my stock?

Please allow between 6-8 weeks, after your order has been placed. If your order is a part container, it may take longer but we will advise you if it is more than 8 weeks.

How do I get my stock?

Your stock will be delivered to a warehouse in Felixstowe. You can pick it up or have it delivered (normal delivery charges apply should you wish it to be delivered.)

How do I pay for it?

You pay us directly by credit card or electronic transfer. We pay each shop that you buy goods from to save you hassle as they only accept cash!

How do I know how much the goods will cost me?

You will be given a price in the shop that includes freight, handling, taxes, insurances etc so there are no nasty surprises. The price we give you is the price you pay.

How does Ezytrade/FIC make money?

We organize the freight, transport, insurance, export license, bill of lading etc and make a margin on that.

How do I know I'm going to get my goods?

By dealing with a UK company you have all the safe guards that you would if you were buying goods from any UK wholesaler and having them delivered. Transactions are initiated through our UK company and we are governed by UK trade law.

Can I have my company logo on some items?

Yes you can - most of the manufacturers allow this. However, the minimum order quantity may be much higher than normal and the price will also increase. You can ask for these details with the translator when you are in the shop.

How can I further capitalize on my trip?

Printing of brochures and business cards etc is much cheaper in China than in the UK. If you plan ahead you can have your printing done while you are in Yi Wu and have it shipped with the rest of your goods. If you are interested, please ask us for details BEFORE coming.

Can I have a holiday at the same time?

Yes - just arrange to have a few days in Shanghai at the end of your trip. Lots of people in Shanghai speak English and it's a very interesting city. We can help you with booking a hotel if you require.

What clothes should I bring?

Dress is very casual, almost everybody wears jeans and t-shirts. Wear comfortable shoes - trainers/runners are best as there is lots of walking involved.

I am on regular medication - any advice?

Should you take any regular medication, ensure you have plenty of supplies - we advise having 2 lots stored in different bags in case one of your bags goes astray.
And although unpleasant, stomach bugs do occasionally occur and we recommend that you bring some Imodium with you just in case.

What food is available?

There are a few Mc Donalds and KFC restaurants in Yi Wu. A typical Mc Donalds / KFC meal is approx £2.
Other restaurants available in Yi Wu serve pizza, Middle Eastern, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean food. A typical evening meal in a local restaurant is approx £2-4.

What money shall I bring and what currency do they use in China?

Bring some cash with you - pounds are fine to bring, you can change money at the airport, in a bank or at your hotel. If you can change your money before you come it is easier for you - it will maximize the shopping time you have in China!!
Renminbi (RMB) is the currency. It is also called Yuan.

Is there internet access?

Internet access is available at any time in our Yi Wu office - we do not charge you for using it.
There is internet access at your hotel too, although the hotel may charge for its use.

Can I make phone calls?

If you have a mobile phone you can arrange for it to be on international roaming for the duration of your trip so you can keep in daily contact with your business. Please check the rates carefully before doing this just to avoid any nasty bills when you return!
Phone calls can also be made from your hotel.
You can also use SKYPE on our computer in the office in China if you prefer.
